You don’t have to go too far from Yeppoon to find Baga National Park. Just ten minutes into Yeppoon’s hinterland, you’ll find Mount Baga, a vestige of an extinct volcano. With its peak at 221 metres above sea level, this landform holds importance for the Aboriginal Darumbal people, as part of their dreamtime stories. 

A fair warning: hiking to the top isn’t for the faint of heart as you’ll need to be an experienced hiker. You have to be in good shape and would need a good pair of shoes to ascend to the mountain.
